KYBELLA

KYBELLA is an injectable treatment that removes submental fat (fat found under the chin) with a series of injections. These injections use a synthetic form of the active ingredient deoxycholic acid, which is an acid naturally found in the stomach. Deoxycholic acid helps the body absorb and break down fat cells. When injected into the submental fat, KYBELLA noticeably & permanently reduces the appearance of fullness under the chin.

This treatment is a great alternative for those who wish to reduce their submental fullness but are looking for a non-surgical, more cost-effective procedure.

Advanced Aesthetics is a Kybella Preferred Clinic, earning Allergan’s highest practice distinguishing level of Diamond Status. Our office has been treating Kybella patients since 2015 when Kybella became FDA-approved for treating unwanted submental fat under the chin.

What is the KYBELLA Treatment Process?

Before receiving the KYBELLA treatment, You may choose to consult with one of our medical providers to ensure that KYBELLA is right for you. Make sure to disclose if you have had trouble swallowing or breathing or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan to become pregnant.

Once a treatment plan is decided on and we understand your desired outcome, the treatment can begin. This will begin with our medical professional mapping out the injections on your chin with a marker and injecting lidocaine to ensure minimal discomfort. After that, KYBELLA will be injected under the chin. The whole process usually takes less than an hour.

Since everyone has a different profile, the results after each treatment will vary, but you will likely need anywhere from 2 to 4 treatments to achieve optimum results. These treatments are usually scheduled at least one month apart.

Is the KYBELLA Treatment Painful?

We use lidocaine, an injectable numbing agent, as it greatly reduces pain and discomfort. Even with lidocaine, you will likely experience mild pain as KYBELLA is injected. After the injection, as the deoxycholic acid takes effect, patients may experience pain, swelling, bruising, or numbness. These sensations are normal and generally go away within 48 hours post treatment, however, swelling can last up to two weeks.

How Long Will My KYBELLA Treatment Last?

One of the greatest things about Kybella is that it is a permanent solution to unwanted fat under your chin. Once KYBELLA is injected, the deoxycholic acid permanently breaks down and removes the fat cells, making it so that they can no longer store or accumulate fat. Once you reach your desired goals, further treatment is rarely needed.

Is KYBELLA Right For You?

Clinically studies have shown KYBELLA to be effective and deliver satisfactory results in a large majority of patients. What makes you a good candidate for KYBELLA? KYBELLA is likely a good choice for you if:

  • You are conscious of your submental fullness, and it makes you feel embarrassed or appear heavier and older than you actually are
  • Your submental fullness remains despite proper eating and exercise habits.
  • You have no desire to have surgery done, such as liposuction.

How Much Does the KYBELLA Treatment Cost?

At Advanced Aesthetics, we sell KYBELLA in packages of 4 vials which we administer over the course of two treatments. This costs $2500. Additional vials can be added for $625 each.
