What Is the Treatment Time for Removing Age Spots?
How long it takes depends on several factors, including the age spots’ size and number as well as their depth. Another critical factor is the method used.
With Fraxel®, you may need two to four treatments to see a significant improvement. Most patients need a treatment every six to eight weeks until they achieve their desired results.
With Clear + Brilliant® Touch, it may take at least one or two treatments, but the desired outcomes of most patients are usually noticeable after four to six treatments.

Vbeam®

What Are the Side Effects of Age Spot Treatment
Our age spot treatments are safe and have minimal side effects. Depending on the method you choose, these may include:
- A sensation of warmth/heat in the treated areas
- Redness and swelling in the treatment areas
- Bruising
- Flaking of old skin as new skin emerges
These side effects go away within a few hours to a few days.
Who are Not Candidates for Age Spot Treatments?
Before your age spot treatment, you must first undergo a consultation with our team. We will advise you if you are contraindicated against your chosen age spot treatment.
Candidates who cannot receive Fraxel®, PhotoFacial, or Clear + Brilliant® Touch treatments include those who:
- Have had Accutane treatment within the past 6 months, or are actively undergoing treatment
- Are predisposed to excessive scarring or forming keloids
- Are using antibiotics or retinol products
- Have a medical history of vitiligo, radiation treatment, psoriasis, scleroderma skin cancer, suspicious lesions in the treatment area, or collagen disorders
- Are pregnant or nursing
Those who don’t qualify for Vbeam® treatments include individuals who are:
- Pregnant
- Are currently undergoing or have had Accutane treatment within the past six months
- Have a history of cold sores or herpes simplex virus that have not been treated before the procedure
