What Is Fraxel® Dual?
Fraxel® Dual is a laser treatment that uses fractional, microscopic laser columns to penetrate your skin, target the tissue beneath the surface, and encourage the growth of collagen and rapid healing around the treated area.
The Fraxel Dual laser is non-ablative — meaning it doesn’t cause physical damage or injury to your skin — so you’ll experience minimum downtime while treating your:

How Fraxel Dual Works at Advanced Aesthetics
Fraxel is a non-ablative treatment. This means it does not remove or destroy the outer layer of your skin to enhance the areas of concern.
Instead, micro-lasers go deeper below your skin’s surface layer, damaging tiny portions of skin but leaving the surrounding areas intact to stimulate the production of collagen to promote healing.
Fraxel uses similar technology to micro-needling. However, the Fraxel laser uses laser energy to penetrate to a deeper level, correcting more advanced skin concerns without the force damage of a needle.
Before your procedure, we’ll provide you with a topical numbing cream that will drastically reduce the discomfort you feel during the Fraxel treatment.
It’s also very common for our Fraxel patients to use our Pro-Nox pain management system during their treatment. Most patients experience an increased sensation of heat on the surface of the skin, as well as swelling and tenderness similar to a mild sunburn.
Your skin will flake and peel completely in the next 6 – 8 days following your Fraxel treatment. The total procedure time typically lasts an hour and a half. However, your treatment time could be longer based on how many areas of the body need treatment.
