How MiraDry Works at Advanced Aesthetics
The miraDry treatment will be conducted in our office with the handheld miraDry device. This non-invasive treatment works by using micro-energy waves to heat the sweat and odor glands in your armpits, eliminating them for good.
This may sound uncomfortable or even painful, but the miraDry device will constantly cool the outer layer of your skin, keeping you at a comfortable temperature.
Before treatment, the medical professional conducting your treatment will also inject a local anesthetic into your underarm, ensuring that you feel minimal pain throughout the entire process. Most patients who receive the miraDry treatment also choose to use our Pro-Nox (laughing gas) pain management system to add an extra level of comfort.
Before the treatment begins, we’ll apply a temporary tattoo to your underarms to act as a guide for the medical professional. From start to finish, the miraDry process is less than two hours and requires minimal downtime. You can head back to work as soon as you finish your session.
After we’ve completed the miraDry procedure, you may experience moderate swelling and tenderness in the treatment area, though this will typically resolve in 3 – 5 days.
