What is SkinPen?
SkinPen is the first medical grade micro-needling device that is FDA-approved for cosmetic purposes. For those desiring to rejuvenate their skin, SkinPen stimulates the natural healing process for those with acne scars on the face or wrinkles on the neck. This treatment causes scars to become less noticeable and wrinkles to become smoother.
Our treatment uses the SkinPen device to create micro punctures in the skin of the face or neck with microneedles. These tiny wounds stimulate the growth of collagen which heals scars and results in tighter, healthier skin. This minimally-invasive procedure is faster, more cost-effective, and results in much less downtime than other methods of scar removal, such as plastic surgery.

Benefits of SkinPen + PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is an add-on treatment manipulating a person’s own blood to increase results of a Microneedling treatment, laser procedure or injectable desires. A small amount of blood (20cc-60cc) is drawn up from the individual patient into a syringe. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge in order to separate all the blood components (red blood cells, PRP, plasma, etc). The PRP is then extracted from the remaining blood components in order to be used for treatment. PRP can be applied topically or injected directly into tissue to provide a multitude of benefits including: improved skin texture, minimized fine lines and wrinkles, increased volume, diminished appearance of scars, and hair restoration. When PRP is introduced onto the tissue in combination with SkinPen, it causes a greater inflammation that triggers an accelerated response of the skin's natural healing response when compared to just using the SkinPen device on its own. The platelets release a number of enzymes to expedite healing and tissue responses including attracting stem cells to repair damaged tissue. As a result, new collagen begins to develop. As the collagen matures it begins to shrink causing tightening and strengthening of the skin.
Is the SkinPen Treatment Painful?
To ensure your comfort during treatments, our medical processional that is conducting the treatment will apply topical lidocaine numbing cream to reduce any discomfort you might feel. The SkinPen is then carefully passed over the treatment area.
After your SkinPen treatment, you might notice that the treated area is red and slightly swollen. The micro-injuries from the SkinPen have simply stimulated your body’s natural healing process. The swollen feeling and redness will resolve in a few days.
NOTE: The newly treated skin will be extra sensitive to the sun, so if you have received the SkinPen treatment, you must be extra careful to protect your face and neck with sunscreen and avoid long term sun exposure as this will compromise the treatment results.
How Long Will My SkinPen Treatment Last?
In general, most patients need between 4-6 sessions spaced four to six weeks apart to achieve their desired result. Since this treatment relies on your body’s natural healing process, the results are permanent, so no additional treatments will be required. However, if there is a new area you want treated, you are welcome to schedule additional visits.
How Much Does SkinPen Treatment Cost?
